NIGHTS

48 Hours in Leeds

With plenty to do in vibrant and buzzing Leeds it’s easy to plan a jam-packed trip filled with a variety of experiences and attractions. Our city-centre Leeds hotel is the perfect place to stay for a fun and busy break so we’ve created a 48 hours in Leeds guide to inspire our guests.

Day 1

Morning – Leeds has an abundance of amazing eateries that are perfect breakfast spots to start your day. Try out The Greedy Pig, arguably the most famous breakfast destination in Leeds with a reputation that precedes it. This is the ultimate spot to indulge in the breakfast of champions. Afterwards walk off your food by visiting Leeds’ many shopping centres and arcades such as Trinity Leeds or the brand new Victoria Gate for some retail therapy.

Afternoon - Enjoy a cultural afternoon exploring Leeds’ renowned art galleries. Leeds Art Gallery has the best twentieth-century collection outside of London and is completely free! More of a history buff? The Royal Armouries Museum, which is the national museum of arms and armour and also free, hosts fascinating exhibitions and demonstrations. Afterwards, have lunch at Trinity Kitchens to sample the wide variety of street food and international cuisine.

Evening – Catch a play at West Yorkshire Playhouse, the home of incredible stories. Enjoy dinner at one of Leeds’ many celebrity chef restaurants including Gino D’Acampo’s and Marco’s New York Italian for something delicious and extra special. Then head back to our hotel and choose from over 100 gins at our hotel’s Gin Garden and sit back and relax after an exciting day before crashing out in our luxuriously comfortable bedrooms.

Day 2

Morning – Venture further afield with a trip to nearby Harewood House, one of the Treasure Houses of England and rich with history and architectural majesty. Wander around over 100 acres of stunning gardens and grounds before visiting the farm and meeting Harewood’s animal family.

Evening – Head back to Leeds city centre and visit The Calls for a good old Yorkshire bar crawl. From cocktail bars to classic pubs there’s an abundance of places to drink and dance the night away. Alternatively, if you’re not staying an extra night then go to the Belgrave Music Hall for a fantastic rooftop bar experience, grab a pizza slice or burger and enjoy some live music before setting off home.

The New Ellington, Leeds Hotel is an affordable, central Leeds hotel, ideally located near many top attractions. To check availability, call 0113 204 2150 or email info@thenewellington.com.
